My name is Giselle Dekel and I am a mother of 4 (husband included) and a full-time artist and illustrator. I was born in Vienna, Austria, and then shortly after moved to Antwerp, Belgium where I spent a magical childhood and young adulthood filled with beer fries and mayonnaise and chocolate.

I always had an undeniable love for art and decided to pursue studies in this field at 16 years old at De Kunsthumaniora school based in Antwerp.In my early 20s, I relocated to Israel where I studied textile design at Shenkar College of Design and Art. Years of experimenting and working in the field eventually led me to mingle with my actual passion – illustration.

With deep appreciation for my respected studies and the initial artistic journey, I moved on to creating playful, witty yet deep meaningful pieces. As life can get weary at times it was essential for me to break the ice and have a discussion about those everyday subjects through art and simply lighten up the mood because let’s face it… Life can be hard.

Ultimately I hope that viewers connect with my work and find laughter and a feeling of being seen and understood.
