TV network Fox confirmed Friday that it would be reviving Tim Allen's comedy Last Man Standing. The news – rumored for weeks – was confirmed a day after the network canceled critically acclaimed comedies The Last Man on Earth, The Mick, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

"Last Man Standing ended too soon and the outcry from the fans has been deafening,” said Gary Newman and Dana Walden, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group (the irony may have been lost on them). “We’ve wanted to put the show back together since its final taping a year ago, and Tim never gave up hope either. Thanks to its millions of devoted viewers and the irrepressible Tim Allen, we haven’t seen the last of Last Man Standing." Read more...

SpaceX just sent a rocket there and back again.

The private spaceflight company successfully launched another Falcon 9 rocket to space before landing it back on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean on Friday.

The Falcon 9 took flight at 4:14 p.m. ET from Cape Canaveral, Florida, carrying the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 — a communications satellite for Bangladesh — on its way to orbit.

About 10 minutes after launch, the first stage of the Falcon 9 came back in for a pretty landing back on Earth. This marks the 25th Falcon 9 landing for SpaceX. Read more...

The Artiphon is back and better than ever.

If you've heard of this smart "everyone" instrument before, you know that it lets you play any song on any instrument you can imagine — all on the same device.

The creators were aiming to reach an ambitiously wide spectrum of people, so when when they say the "everyone" instrument, they aren't kidding. Getting into music creation and learning to play an instrument may have been an overwhelming (and expensive) process in the past, but this super successful Kickstarter project has since changed the game. Now, anyone and everyone interested in music creation can pick up an Artiphon and get their groove on, even if they would never walk into a Guitar Center.  Read more...

A reminder that you should definitely stay in your car while driving through a safari park

A reminder that you should definitely stay in your car while driving through a safari park

It should go without saying that those who venture on a car safari to view potentially dangerous animals should not leave their vehicles.

Still, there will always be those who defy reasoning, like this decidedly bold group of tourists seen dodging a few aggressive cheetahs while walking through a Netherlands safari park.

Despite the title on this video, via YouTube channel FPE Humor, this is no "brutal" cheetah attack. Everyone in the clip appears to be fine. Still, it's pretty unnerving to watch:

A longer video on FPE Humor's channel says the clip was shot at Beekse Bergen park near Tilburg in the Netherlands.  Read more...

People are still naming their kids after 'Game of Thrones' characters

People are still naming their kids after 'Game of Thrones' characters
TwitterFacebook

The Social Security Administration has released its list of top baby names for U.S. kids in 2017. Surprise: people are still super into naming their kids after television characters.

The trend of naming a child after a Game of Thrones favorite has always been a little puzzling to me, mostly because you never know when your favorite character is going to die a disturbing death. Nevertheless, two of the names that increased the most in popularity last year were Lyanna and Yara — although Black-ish star Yara Shahidi probably had a hand in the latter. Arya also enjoyed an increase in popularity.

Elon Musk loves NASA, and he has the old password to prove it

Elon Musk loves NASA, and he has the old password to prove it

SpaceX founder Elon Musk really loves NASA, and with good reason.

Without NASA's advances in spaceflight, commercial rocketeers like Musk would have a limited understanding of how to safely fly to orbit.

In fact, a former password used by Musk reveals his love for the American space agency.

"NASA has been an amazing partner for us," Musk said during a call with reporters about an upgraded version of the Falcon 9 rocket set to fly this week.

"I love NASA so much that literally my password was ‘ILoveNASA’." (Musk actually loves talking about this password, having mentioned it a few times in the past few years.) Read more...

Red Sox pitcher may need to quit 'Fortnite' thanks to carpal tunnel
TwitterFacebook

David Price, one of the Boston Red Sox's best pitchers, may need to quit playing Fortnite if he wants to keep playing baseball.

Price sat out Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees due to an issue with his hand — not an issue you want as a starting pitcher — which turned out to be carpal tunnel syndrome. After receiving the news, Price told ESPN that he may have to quit playing the popular game Fortnite, which has taken the MLB by storm.

Although his condition may not have 100% come from Fortnite, Price is a known Fortnite player, and carpal tunnel syndrome can spring up in people who make small repetitive movements with their hands and fingers, namely typing or gaming. Read more...

Size matters — at least when it comes to sex toys.

If you're looking to treat yourself in the bedroom there are millions of sex toys to choose from, but one of the greatest things about masturbating is you're totally in control.

You decide how to pleasure yourself, which means you have the option to go big — like, really really big — if you so choose.

Stratis wants to be a one-stop-shop for ICOs
TwitterFacebook

When it comes to initial coin offerings or ICOs — crowdfunding events in which participants buy digital tokens from a startup — the London-based Stratis is one of the original gangsters. The company launched a successful ICO in June 2016, way back before the ICO craze, selling its STRAT tokens for $0.007 each.

The price of STRAT has skyrocketed to $6 since, earning early investors who never sold it more than 80,000% in returns. The coin's market cap currently sits at $592 million, making STRAT the 41st largest cryptocurrency out there. But Stratis, which describes itself as blockchain for the enterprise, has been fairly quiet since in those two years, which is a very long time in cryptocurrency world.  Read more...
