My name is Glenn Cooper and I am an artist who enjoys cartooning, humorous illustration, and creating abstract paintings. I reside in California with my wife Sharie, dog Gizmo, and cat Rocky.
Over the years I have been drawing gag cartoons for magazines and trade publications and for the last few years, I have been posting a single-panel gag cartoon titled Risible Cartoons on social media. I draw rough drafts of my cartoons and illustrations on pencil and paper and my final works are completed by way of a drawing tablet and digital illustration program. I love the process of coming up with an idea/gag and carefully crafting a cartoon with or without a caption that will hopefully deliver a smile or chuckle to my followers.
I appreciate the opportunity to show my Risible Cartoons here on Bored Panda and hope everyone enjoys them. More of my Risibles can be found on my Instagram and other works including humorous illustrations and multi-panel Risible Sunday Funnies can be found at Ko-fi. Thank you!

#1 First Job

My journey as an artist was never intentional or well planned out. As a youngster I loved doodling small humorous pictures to entertain myself and eventually share with others. I would draw cartoons to share with family and friends, but I never took cartooning seriously until later in life. The quote “Jack of all trades and a master of none” fits me very well. Over time I have accumulated many passions, hobbies and interests such as musician, songwriter, humorous illustrator, cartoonist, painter, wood worker and the important ones, business owner, career in law enforcement and taking care of my family.
A few years ago I took a break away from police work and relocated to New York City where my wife had an opportunity to further her passion as a pastry chef while I studied at the NY Art Students League. This is when and where I honed in on my skills as an artist and began to take my cartooning seriously, which resulted in me creating Risible Cartoons.

#3 Dress For Success

My creative process begins every day first with multiple cups of black coffee. Coffee seems to wake up the right side of my brain. Throughout my day I constantly think about how I can apply a humorous twist to an everyday occurrence(s). When I observe something that catches my attention (normal or wacky), my mind immediately switches to a creative mode and tries to come up with a way to make a wacky or impossible scenario believable and/or a normal occurrence or scenario appear wacky.

Once I have an idea, I create a rough pen or pencil drawing and add it to my messy stack of drafts. All of my final cartoons are created on a Huion digital drawing monitor. Sometimes I complete a final product within a couple of hours but often I will save and revisit a cartoon, reworking it until I think the gag or idea finally works.

#7 Trim Time

My signature style (at least what I strive for) is cartoons drawn with simple lines and colors that support my comedic vision and a gag line that returns the favor to the image.
