Game of Thrones has slowly but surely become the ultimate ‘weapon of mass distraction,’ with nefarious goings-on in the real world getting a fraction of the analysis and understanding of the fictional battles in this insanely popular TV show.
The latest episode left many disappointed that Jon Snow seemingly didn’t do anything
The latest theory to get tongues wagging is that Jon Snow actually did help to kill the night king. Just before Arya reached the Night King, Snow can be seen coming from behind his shelter to fight Viserion, the undead dragon. Apparently, he screams “Go!,” allowing Arya to pass by and do her deed.
Reddit user Applesoapp takes the credit for this massively important observation. “Jon screamed at the undead dragon to distract it so Arya can run past and kill the Night King,“ they wrote.
“The undead dragon was protecting the entrance to the Godswood. Watch it again, you can actually hear him scream ‘GOOOOO – GO – GO.’ Ten seconds later…you can see the hair of a White Walker flying up when Arya sprints past the group of White Walkers. Jon once again was ready to sacrifice himself to kill the Night King.”
So it seems that while Arya rightly gets the plaudits for scoring the winning goal, Jon Snow should be at least racking up an assist for his selfless act. Perhaps people will lay off him a little bit now?
What do you think? Was Jon helping Arya? Or was he just screaming at that dragon? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
